Responsive Circle Implementation

Target Audience: School Staff, Teachers

Learn how to incorporate responsive peacemaking circles into your classroom and community. This session will focus on responsive circles and the structured intervention for severe and complex incidents of harm. Participants will engage in mock disciplinary scenarios to practice a responsive circle; discuss preparatory meetings, mock circles, and written agreements; and review re-entry processes. Throughout, session facilitators and participants will share feedback to enhance skill development. Throughout the session, participants will explore the intersection between responsive circles and the D.C. Student Fair Access to School Act.

All professional development sessions use a trauma-informed approach and teach skills and practices that you can implement immediately. We highly encourage participants to join our weekly coaching sessions for a deeper dive into the challenges of implementation and practice. All Fall 2021 sessions will be held virtually on Zoom.
